STAR has launched its new website, with an updated look and feel, giving the industry a clearer view of the programme, how it works and how organisations can use independent measurement and accreditation to improve transfer performance.
But this is more than a new look for STAR.
The website reflects how the programme is evolving and our ambition to make transfer performance more visible, measurable and continually improving across UK financial services.
Making transfer performance visible
Transfers are rarely delivered by one organisation working alone. They depend on multiple parties working together effectively – which means improving the customer experience requires collaboration across the industry.
STAR brings organisations together around consistent measurement of transfer performance, providing the evidence needed to understand what is working, identify where improvements can be made and measure progress over time.
That approach is already delivering results.
Between 2022 and 2026, STAR received 272 accreditation submissions from 43 organisations, with 246 awards achieved. And, since 2022, the number of Gold awards has increased by 36%.
A brighter STAR
Visitors can now more easily explore what STAR is, how accreditation works and which organisations participate.
The site also provides greater clarity around the different areas covered by STAR, the annual accreditation process and the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards participants can achieve.
Most importantly, it makes clearer what sits behind those awards.
STAR accreditation is independently assessed against defined measures of transfer performance. It gives participating organisations a way to evidence their performance, while using management information to identify opportunities for further improvement.
Because accreditation should not be the end of the process. Measurement enables organisations to answer the next question: what can we improve?
What comes next
The new website is also the foundation for the next stage of STAR.
As the programme continues its move towards Full MI, participating organisations will gain deeper insight into transfer performance and greater opportunities to identify where change can make a difference.
We will also be using the new site to share more of the evidence, insight and progress coming from across the STAR community – making it easier for organisations, advisers and the wider industry to see how transfer performance is changing.
Our objective remains straightforward: better transfer experiences for customers.
Achieving that requires organisations willing to measure performance, be transparent about the results and work collaboratively to improve.
